Calcium Chloride

CAS 10043-52-4 · HS 2827 20 00

Calcium chloride is a highly soluble salt used to make dense brines for oil and gas wells, to melt ice and control dust on roads, to speed up the setting of concrete, to adjust water hardness and as a drying agent.

Moreva Export supplies four grades: anhydrous 94–97% as prills or powder, and dihydrate 75% as powder or lumps. Choose a grade below for its full specification.

3Applications of Calcium Chloride

Oil & gas drilling and completion

Dissolved to make clear, dense brines used in drilling, completion and workover fluids.

Road de-icing

Melts ice and snow at lower temperatures than common salt, and releases heat as it dissolves.

Dust control

Draws moisture from the air to keep unpaved roads, mine haul roads and construction sites dust-free.

Concrete & construction

Used as a set accelerator so concrete gains strength faster, especially in cold weather.

Drying & refrigeration

Used as a desiccant for drying gases and liquids, and in refrigeration brines.

Calcium Chloride: frequently asked questions

What is the HS code for calcium chloride?

Calcium chloride from India is exported under HS code 2827 20 00. Its CAS number is 10043-52-4.

Which calcium chloride grades do you supply?

75% calcium chloride as lumps or powder, and 94% calcium chloride as powder or prills.

What is the difference between 75% and 94% calcium chloride?

The 94% grade contains more calcium chloride and less water, so each tonne does more work, for example when making dense oilfield brines. The 75% grade is economical for uses such as dust control.

Can I get specifications before ordering?

Yes. Tell us the grade and form you need, and we send the detailed specification with our quotation. Each lot ships with a Certificate of Analysis.
